[ENG] I’m back
Hi dear ones, I’m back, at least I think so, unless I’m living in a dream..
It’s been about 16 days since the last time we heard from each other and trust me, if I say about it’s because at some point I completely lost track of time ahhaaha.
The return from Japan was heartbreaking, maybe because of the sadness of leaving my favorite place or maybe because of how heavy the trip itself was, but the fact is that it made me feel completely empty in the days that followed.
Since the last time we talked a few things have changed and it honestly feels crazy, but in 16 days some pretty big things happened. I’ll tell you everything calmly, but first let me say two things about the upcoming content.
Upcoming content
I have two YouTube videos planned, both about Japan.
The first one will be a general video that includes all the footage I recorded during the trip and it will be completely silent, I want you to experience what it was from my perspective, in the purest way possible.
The second video will be a spoken recap of my journey, also mentioning some technical aspects and advice I can give based on my experience. I will tell my Japan story while flipping through the pages of a travel book that I started in Japan and finished at home, it contains images, stamps, receipts, papers and many other little things I kept from the trip.
I believe this one could be a new and really meaningful kind of content, I’ll try to make it as good as I possibly can.
What changed
In these 16 days three main things happened.
I quit my job
Starting with the first one, I quit my job... don’t think I’m crazy.
I left my job as a graphic designer, which I had been doing for about 4 years, to dedicate myself 100% to my family’s business. I want to take it over one day and make it mine in the future, and to do that I first need to learn all their secrets and their professionalism.
I decided to help my parents to give them a lighter workload so they can relax a bit, they basically live only for work..
I signed up for climbing
The second big thing is that I finally decided to sign up for climbing. After about 3 years of having this idea in my head, I made the decision and went for a trial session at a gym here in Perugia.
What can I say, it’s such an amazing sport. As I told my girlfriend right after the trial: “I think I’ve found my sport”.. and yes, I really mean it.
I love the fact that even if people can give you advice, in the end it’s still you who has to reach the end of the block, it’s still you using your tendons, your arms, your legs and your brain to get to the top.
The environment is fantastic, even if I still need to get used to it, but overall it’s all really beautiful and I’m very happy to dedicate my time to this sport.
My own sewing machine
The third thing is that I finally decided to buy my own sewing machine. Now I can dedicate myself to the MYOG sewing projects that were sitting dusty in a drawer because I didn’t have the right materials.
Now I spend my days making patterns and sewing things mainly for the outdoor world, stuff to bring to the mountains and so on. I would also like to share some of these projects here on the blog, who knows if you’ll ever see one ahahha.
The big Japan post
Those were the three things, but let me say a few last words before saying goodbye for now.
I’m working on the big Japan post for the blog, it will follow the path of the video but at the same time it will be a more introspective journey into what I experienced (feelings, colors, smells, etc).
I really hope you’ll like it because I’m dedicating time to it and taking care of it properly. I don’t think it will be out before mid-March or maybe even the end of March.
As for the videos, I’m not sure, the silent footage one is almost ready, but I’ll release it when I feel like it. For me the blog and YouTube are not an obligation of any kind, when I feel inspired and ready I post something, so if I’m silent here it’s just because I’m enjoying my time.
You can always write to me by email, you’re always welcome.
Conclusions
With that said, I’ll say goodbye. I’m happy to have checked in again, and I’m also happy that even though I disappeared for a few weeks, the blog keeps receiving visits and people keep looking for me, I must be on the right path.
Thank you so much, see you soon..
I’d love for you to sign up for the newsletter you’ll get a nice little message every time I post something new. Plus, sometimes I share small gifts or ideas during the month that I later talk about here, so you’ll basically get early access 👀
Just a quick reminder at the bottom of the page there’s a little button with two arrows pointing up.
If you click it, you’ll be doing me a huge favor <3
